Its purpose
Keep the next decision in view.
The useful question is whether a working process helps people understand a search problem, choose the next action and check its effect. That is what I am testing, rather than presenting the pilot as a finished product.
The public experiment records on this site follow the same principle: state the question, preserve the evidence and make the next decision explicit. They do not demonstrate every part of the pilot.
